Alex Grey is a very talented psychedelic visionary painter. He painted this portrait of Obama in 2008 stating “After hearing Barack Obama’s speech in Berlin, and noting the degree of excitement and hope that he generated throughout many countries besides the US, I started to see him as one of the first true “world leaders.” Obama’s restraint and intelligence, exhibited as foes were bating him throughout the campaign, his heartfelt clarity coming through in his talks are all qualities of a highly evolved person.”
This just goes to show you the disconnect many new agers, ‘psychonauts’, peace lovers, and rights activists have when under the shadow of rhetorical aesthetic power. In 5 years Obama has paid lip service to many important causes whilst enacting some of the most devastating power shifts in history; taking away human rights, using drones to spy and murder innocents, prosecuting truth telling whistleblowers with sentences worse than rapists, and going after legal marijuana growers and failing to deliver on any of his ‘progressive’ promises.
Not only did this man get a Nobel Peace Prize before doing anything ‘peaceful’, he even had supposedly ‘enlightened’ people with zero tolerance for violence, like Alex Grey, inspired enough to paint a portrait.
Obama, like all people who seek political power, has used it nefariously whilst projecting this ‘Messiah’, ‘cool big brother’ image with crafty rhetoric and some punchlines.
Remember that old adage “actions speak louder than words.” The cost of being fooled by these people is nothing less than somebodies life.
Took this picture Friday… Can you figure out what you’re looking at?

Well it’s not possible to win this kind of thing. This is a continuous striving that people have done for a long time. Of course, there is many individual battles that we win, but it is the nature of human beings that human beings lie and cheat and deceive and organized groups of people who do not lie and cheat and deceive find each other and get together… and because they have that temperament, are more efficient. Because they are not lying and cheating and deceiving each other. And that is an old, a very old struggle between opportunists and collaborators. And so I don’t see that going away. I think we can make some significant advances and it is perhaps, it is the making of these advances and being involved in that struggle that is good for people. So the process is in part the end game. It’s not just to get somewhere in the end, rather this process of people feeling that it is worthwhile to be involved in that sort of struggle, is in fact worthwhile for people. — Julian Assange
