Spanking and verbal abuse does not teach children discipline - it teaches them that they can use violence to solve problems. Next time you see a child being smacked or verbally abused, say something. Give that child an opportunity to know that what is being done to them is wrong. Show them empathy. That one moment of a stranger acknowledging what they’re going through will stick with them forever and could save their mind. It saved mine.
